Why I Chose A Plum Quick Golf Cart Motor
from: Bruno RykerMy EZGO golf cart had gotten slower and slower over the past few
years. It was time to upgrade my cart to match the newer speedy
golf cars that were popping up in my neighborhood.
The first thing I did was install a new set of batteries. That
helped my speed a little bit. Next I upgraded to 4ga heavy duty
welding wire. That gave my EZGO PDS cart more torque when
climbing the hills and a better jump off the line. Those changes
really did little more than adding about 2mph to my top speed.
The biggest early gain in speed came from one of the cheapest
upgrades which was next. I added a freedom speed chip to my
electric machine. This plastic and wire item plugged directly
into the controller of my PDS cart. This change jumped me from
14mph all the way up to 18mph. A 4mph gain that only cost me
$12. I was getting happier with each step up.
That speed upgrade kept me satisfied for nearly 2 months until
a 10 year old kid passed me in a beat up looking Club Car cart
that was at least 15 years old. I had to get serious in my next
upgrade. I started looking at custom performance golf cart
motors. That was where the real speed was coming from.
There were a few choices out there to make my cart reach the
speeds I desired. After reading everything I could on the
subject one name kept popping up to the top. Plum Quick Motors
was always talked up as having the best customer satisfaction
and reliability when dealing with a golf cart motor upgrade.
There are many golf cart forums on the web and I just could not
find one bad thing said about the Plum Quick Motor.
I ordered a motor and had it sent to my local custom golf car
builder. The next weekend I had my EZGO cart out on the road and
was now hitting a top speed of 26mph. I haven't been passed by
another cart yet and I couldn't be happier with my new Plum
Quick Motor.
